Welcome to Andrew Currie's Music and Collectables in Gravenhurst!
About the store!
Add us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_14455756021Andrew began collecting and restoring guitars four years ago, and since has given several hundred stringed instruments a new life. Instruments destined for the garbage heap were pulled aside, and painstakingly restored piece by piece, back to playable condition. If you don't have a guitar but want to join the sessions, you are welcome to use one from his collection. Andrew Currie and his brother and fellow performer Robert, have been playing guitar for the past decade, and have built a large collection of restored vintage accoustic, electric and bass guitars forsale or for use in their "learn-to-play" sessions.
WANT A REPAIR BUT CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO HELP!
Fear not! While some guitar shops won't fix a guitar they consider up to snuff, (worthy of their attention) heck, we'll be glad to give it a go! A bolt-on neck offers some challenges, but that's life. We'll help where and when we can! We have a repair technician in Bracebridge as well, and he's good! He lives for the next adventure in guitar misadventure. Did we tell you the one about a husband's cherished guitar that a mate re-fashioned into splinters? We're bringing it back to life and we'll feature it soon via this site, as a demonstration what can be done to save an old and cherished friend!...."Believe it or not!"
Want to play guitar?
If you are a wannabe player, Andrew and Robert will adapt a program to meet your musical interests, and give you manageable after-lesson programs for at-home practice. If you know the basics but need a little upgrading, Andrew and Robert can jam you back into the mainstream, working on the music you wish to play. Got a broken guitar? We can fix it! Do you have a guitar for sale? We might like to buy it! We are opening our mainstreet shop, which is located on the second floor of the old Muskoka Theatre in Gravenhusrt across from the Oprea House, July 4th. Stop by and browse through the instruments and other collectables.
Who could ask for a better profession?
We are passionate about our music, and when not scrounging flea markets and second hand shops for beater guitars, you might even catch us on stage somewhere or other, or even at a coffee house near you.Check out our other music site, and hear some of our own material we've cranked out in the past couple of months. Don't be afraid to give us a call.644-2192. We don't bite! And if we did, well, it would be a gentle bite! We're all about the music, and we welcome any opportunity to share our craft. Lessons are $25.00 per hour. Two or more lessons per week will reduce this amount to $20.00 per lesson. There are family rates available as well as group rates beginning with September 2006 sessions. Both Andrew and Robert have had Police Background Checks!
